America 250 Bingo

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a summer bingo challenge! Pick up an America 250 Bingo board at any library location and explore what America means to you through history, community, service, and shared experiences. From parades and county fairs to library programs and local history discoveries, there are lots of ways to play. Complete patriotic themed activities, discover library resources, and celebrate our many stories. Get a bingo and win a collectible sticker.

Louise Fischer: Living with the Land, Humanities Montana Speaker

Louise Ogemahgeshig Fischer is a cultural and spiritual leader as well as an artist and elder from the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe, Chippewa) Tribe. “Living with the Land,” means more than the universe… more than the earth and skies…. “Living with the Land” covers medicinal plants and their uses, Indian History, ways of life, hunting, fishing, foods, clothing, gatherings, stars, storytelling, Indian games and so much more. This talk is an exciting look into the past, as artifacts are brought into the audience’s view. Louise sings an Indian song now and then, and has lived in the old ways.

Special Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Head Librarian Tony Edmundson brings the fun with a lively reading of the Declaration of Independence on the front steps of the library after the Kalispell Fourth of July parade. Stick around, celebrate with your neighbors, and don’t miss the outfit!

Elizabeth Barrs: The Veteran’s Experience and Military Culture

An Army combat veteran and Veterans Studies instructor shares powerful, personal perspectives on the American experience. As part of our America250 programming, she will explore the stories of veterans in war and at home, including military culture, family life, and the challenges and triumphs they face today.

A Patriotic Sing Along

The Good Times Chorus will be leading a feel good patriotic community sing along to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary. Bring your friends, your voice, and your spirit! It’s going to be a joyful afternoon filled with music, pride, and community fun! Cookies and lemonade to follow.

Flower Frogs Zone

Craft your own air dry clay flower frog! An easy, hands-on way to elevate your floral arrangements. Cut and mold the clay, let it dry, and enjoy the simple joy of displaying blooms with a piece you made yourself.

Genealogy Classes

Join instructors from Kalispell’s FamilySearch Center for genealogy classes geared toward individuals and families aged 13 and older. Learn personal researching skills, connect with family history groups, and get expert help navigating genealogical sites.

Outdoor Movie Nights at Lonepine State Park

Summer movie nights are coming to Lone Pine State Park! Enjoy family-friendly films outdoors on the lawn. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, pack your favorite snacks, and settle in for a relaxed evening.

Cowboy Music and Storytelling

Montana cowboy, musician, and storyteller Philip Page shares the early history of the West through song, images, and stories. Part of the Humanities Montana Speaker Series, this program explores early settlers, gold strikes, and the people who shaped Montana’s legacy.
