Loud at The Library is back! Come party for a great cause! All proceeds benefit Flathead County Library programming, materials and facility needs. You’ll dance to music by Hotdäyum, enjoy delicious snacks, beer, wine and silent auction. Bring your family and friends, and come make some noise for our fabulous libraries!

Hike-oo: A Guided Poetry Hike with Flathead Lake State Park
Join us for Hike-oo, a National Poetry Month collaboration between Flathead County Library and Flathead Lake State Park. This guided nature hike invites you to slow down, notice beauty and moments of awe, and perhaps be inspired to write a haiku! Meet at the Laura Long Patio behind the library for a short introduction. We will walk together to Wayfarers Unit of Flathead Lake State Park to hike the Harry Horn Loop.

Genealogy Classes
Join instructors from Kalispell’s FamilySearch Center for genealogy classes geared toward individuals and families aged 13 and older. Learn personal researching skills, connect with family history groups, and get expert help navigating genealogical sites. This program will repeat every 1st and 3rd Tuesday in Kalispell and 2nd and 4th Tuesday in Bigfork.

Columbia Falls Library: April 6 –11, during open hours
AARP Smart Driver Course
Get up to speed with the latest driving strategies, auto safety features, and new state and local traffic laws in this course designed especially for drivers age 50 and older. All drivers welcome. Upon completion of the course, you may be eligible to receive auto insurance discounts. Registration is required.

Mobile Memory Café with Montana State University
MSU Extension’s Mobile Memory Café will host a free Dementia education drop-in event at Flathead County Library in Columbia Falls to help community members better understand dementia and caregiving. The drop-in event is open to all community members, caregivers, and professionals.

Monarch Butterflies in Montana
Kathy Ross, a longtime advocate for native plant habitat, will share her 2024 experience with wild monarch butterfly breeding, from the larval stage to adult butterflies, in Kalispell garden where she had planted native Milkweed. Share the amazing, complex life cycle of a Monarch and find out how to support them in a safe and healthy way in the Flathead Valley.

Can I Eat This? A Guided Hike with Flathead Lake State Park
The world around us is full of amazing edible flowers and shrubs. Join a Flathead Lake State Park Ranger on a one-mile guided hike to answer the simple question: Can I eat this? We will discuss edible species and safe foraging practices. We will begin at the Laura Long Patio behind the library for a short introduction, and walk together to Wayfarers Unit of Flathead Lake State Park to hike the Harry Horn Loop. Note: This program is informational only and not intended for survival use.

Nature and Wellness Bingo
Bingo continues with a focus on nature and wellness! Pick up a Nature & Wellness Bingo board at any library location and challenge yourself to connect with the outdoors, practice mindfulness, and try simple wellness activities. Get a bingo and win a collectible sticker.
