Winter Programming Break – Dec. 22 – Jan 2

Children’s programming will be on a short break starting Monday, December 22nd through Friday, January 2nd. During this break, our children’s department will have a variety of interactive activities setup for you to stop by and explore. Regular weekly storytimes and programming will resume Monday, January 5th.

Sensory Play Saturday

Sink your hands into a spectacular tub of fun! Mix, measure, pour or possibly search for tiny treasures. Children of all ages are welcome to join us at each library one Saturday a month!

Columbia Falls: Jan. 3, 10am-12pm

Kalispell: Jan. 10, 10am-12pm

Bigfork: Jan. 17, 12-2pm

Storytime Schedule

Kids Story Time area at the library

Choose the program that best suits your child’s age and development. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Baby Storytime

Make connections with other parents and learn fun techniques for using books, songs, and rhymes at home. Rhythm and repetition will get your little one recognizing and requesting favorite songs. Especially for ages birth to 24 months

Kalispell: Wednesdays, 11am

Bigfork: Fridays, 11am

Columbia Falls: Fridays, 11am


Toddler Storytime

Sing, dance, read and explore while also building social and emotional skills. This fun and interactive program is for toddlers who love to move! Caregiver participation encouraged. Especially for ages 2-4.

Kalispell: Mondays, 11am

Bigfork: Tuesdays, 11am

Columbia Falls: Tuesdays, 11am


Preschool Storytime

Enjoy longer stories and musical activities that promote listening skills and following directions. Following storytime, children can explore activities that highlight math, art, dramatic play and science. Especially for ages 4 and 5.

Kalispell: Tuesdays, 11am

Bigfork: Thursdays, 11am

Columbia Falls: Thursdays, 11am

Kids Wednesday Workshop

Join us every Wednesday for hands-on exploration, including LEGO Challenge and STEAM Space (science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities). We’ll create art, play games, construct new worlds with LEGOs, tackle an engineering challenge or learn a new craft. Especially for kids in grades K-5. Must be accompanied by an adult.

Kalispell: Wednesdays, 2-5pm

Columbia Falls: Wednesdays, 2-4pm

Bigfork: Wednesdays, 3:30-5:30pm
