Rules & Prizes

Two bookmark designs will be crowned winners, one from each age category: ages 11-14, and ages 15-18. The winners will be determined based on votes gathered in our online photo gallery.

The winning art will become the official 2026 Teen Summer Experience Bookmark, the artist will take home a full-sized poster of their work, and an $8 gift card to Dairy Queen!

• Contest Entry Period: March 9 - April 18, 2026
• Contest Voting Period: April 20 - 25, 2026
• Winner Announced: April 27, 2026
• The contest is open to anyone ages 11-18.
• There are two age categories: ages 11-14, and ages 15-18.
• No entries featuring guns or depicting excessive violence will be accepted.
• Registration using your email address is required to enter the contest or vote.
• Limit one entry per contestant.
• Bookmark size must be 1.95”w x 8.25”h. Minimum width must be 350px.
• One vote per bookmark. You can vote on as many bookmarks as you like.
• Participants can also submit artwork using a paper form that can be picked up at any Flathead County Library Teen Zone.
• Art needs to be original and cannot feature copyrighted characters.
• Any art media is acceptable, including original digital artwork, and original photography.
• Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.
• Flathead County Library reserves the right to end the contest at anytime for any reason.
• Flathead County Library reserves the right to disqualify any entrants that violate the rules.
• All entries become the property of Flathead County Library and will not be returned.
• Contestants’ name, age and artwork may be released on Flathead County Library's social media, displayed and/or reproduced.
• All applicants under the age of 18 must have the approval of their parent or guardian to enter.
• In the event of a tie, a panel of Flathead County Library staff will vote on the winning entries to break the tie.
