Wednesday Workshop is our afterschool program for kids in grades K-5. Each week there is a new activity, driven by our themes of STEAM, LEGO challenges, and Games.
This year, we’ve also partnered up with our local outdoor education community. These local experts are excited to bring hands-on activities for school age kids in the library! Check out the schedule below to see who will be visiting our Wednesday Workshops in February and March.

Glacier Institute Fall Workshop:
In the fall, Glacier Institute educators joined us at all of our branch locations, and they’ll be back again to visit this spring too! For their first special visit, they brought a lesson about glacier formation and had a blast with program participants of all ages.
This activity challenged students to make and label four different glacier formations that have formed in the Flathead/Glacier National Park Area: a horn, an arete, a hanging valley, and a u-shaped valley.
They used a cloud dough mixture made from flour, water, and a little baby oil to experiment and see how glaciers move and impact land. The dough provided a satisfying sensory experience and allowed for a hands-on representation of how some common land formations we see around us have come to be!
We are so grateful to our partner educators and can’t wait to see what they bring along for the next lesson!
