March Book Recs by Deidre

March 10, 2026, By in Readers' Advisory.

I’m Deidre—an avid book lover, Adult Programming Librarian for Flathead County Library, and Branch Manager of the Bigfork Library. I love when other people make monthly book plan lists, so I’d thought I’d share mine too! Below are some of the March released books that I’m most excited about.

You may not be surprised to hear that pretty much all the books I read are checked out from the library or from the Libby App as a downloadable audiobook. For the newest titles, that usually means placing a hold as soon as possible and waiting for my turn. That can sometimes take days or even months if it’s a really popular book! I don’t mind the wait though. Once I place a hold I can forget about it until the book arrives, and then it feels like a little present from past me!

Here’s some books I’m planning on getting in line for this month:

  • This Story Might Save Your Life by Tiffany Crum (survival‑story podcaster caught in a thriller plot)
  • The Star From Calcutta by Sujata Massey (book 5 in a series I love, set in 1920s Bombay)
  • A Far-Flung Life by M.L. Stedman (historical fiction set in Australia, by the author of the Light Between Oceans)
  • Whidbey by T Kira Madden (literary thriller set on Whidbey Island)
  • Daughter of Egypt by Marie Benedict (this author always does her historical fiction well, this one is about Cleopatra)
  • This Kingdom Will Not Kill Me by Ilona Andrews (fantasy book where the character finds herself inside the series she’s reading, also a cool cover)
  • Wait for Me by Amy Jo Burns (I liked this author’s other books and this one has to do with women in Appalachian music)
  • Life: A Love Story by Elizabeth Berg (this author writes cozy heartwarming stories, and this one has intergenerational friendships, and a librarian. Perfect)
  • Python’s Kiss by Louise Erdrich (I love Louise Erdrich and I love short stories)
  • When the Forest Breathes by Suzanne Simard (nonfiction by the woman who wrote the Hidden Life of Trees, which I loved)
